Thundercat first appeared on the scene as a talented bassist participating in works by Flying Lotus, Kendrick Lamar, and Kamasi Washington, but with black music growing in popularity in recent years, he has since become famous in his own right. After proving his skills with The Golden Age Of Apocalypse (2011) and Apocalypse (2013), he went on to cement his popularity with his latest album Drunk (2017). A symbol for the 2017 music scene, Drunk features guest appearances by a number of prominent musicians including Kendrick Lamar, Pharrell Williams, Flying Lotus, Michael McDonald, Kenny Loggins, Wiz Khalifa, and Kamasi Washington.
