英国生まれの作曲家/歌手であるAndy Platts(アンディー・プラッツ)は、主にバンドMamas Gun(ママズ・ガン)のメンバーとして知られ、その他にユニットYoung Gun Silver Fox（ヤング・ガン・シルヴァー・フォックス）のメンバーとしても知られています。デビュー作品の契約にサインし、レジェンドであるRod TempertonやJon Oatesとの作曲活動を経験し、Mamas Gunを結成するに至りました。

デビューアルバムである「Routes to Riches（ルーツトゥリッチズ）」は、プラッツによりほぼすべての曲が作曲され、アルバムを代表する曲として「House on a Hill（ハウスオンアヒル）」が収録されました。このアルバムの売上は好調で、日本・香港・インドネシアのairplay（エアプレイ）で１位を獲得し、日本ではトップ３のセールを記録しました。「House on a Hill（ハウスオンアヒル）」は、リリース時に日本のラジオで最も演奏されていた曲となり、「Let’s Find A Way（レッツファインドアウェイ）」や「Pots of Gold（ポッツオブゴールド）」などの楽曲は英国の主要な全国ラジオで再生されました。

彼らの最新アルバムである「GOLDEN DAYS（ゴールデンデイズ）」は、「ママズ・ガンは21世紀の魂の最前線に居る」（Clash（クラッシュ））や「彼らの最高作品はまだ存在した」（Echoes（エコーズ））のように評論家から称賛されただけでなく、インディーズレーベルUBIQUITY RECORDS（ユビクイティレコーズ）と彼らのアメリカにおける最初のレコード契約を結ぶことになりました。

ママズ・ガンの活動と同様に、プラッツはアジアや欧州のアーティストへ楽曲を提供する活動も積極的に取り組んでいます。韓国系アメリカ人アーティストであるJohn Park（ジョン・パーク）へ提供した「Falling（フォーリング）」は、韓国のヒットチャートで１位を獲得しました。日本では、山下智久のナンバー１アルバム「YOU（ユー）」に収録されたリードシングルの楽曲提供や、人気２人組グループのEvery Little Thing（エヴリリトルシング）のシングル4曲の作曲も担当しました。その他の功績として、韓国の大人気スターであるPark Hyo Shin（パク・ヒョシン）へ提供した「Shine Your Life（シャインユアライフ）」は韓国でナンバー２を記録し、最近では韓国のトップアーティストFT Island（FTアイランド）の10周年記念アルバム内の楽曲である「The Night（ザナイト）」にも携わりました。

Andy Platts is a British songwriter and vocalist known primarily through his work with the band Mamas Gun and latterly as part of the duo Young Gun Silver Fox. After having signed his first publishing deal and soaking up experience from writing with legends such as Rod Temperton and Jon Oates, Platts set about forming the band Mamas Gun

Mamas Guns’ debut album Routes to Riches , almost exclusively written by Platts and spearheaded by Platts’ own song ‘House on a Hill’, gave the band a great start with a no. 3 sales chart hit in Japan with the album yielding airplay no.1’s in Japan, Hong Kong and Indonesia. ‘House on a Hill’ was the most played song on Japanese radio at the time of its release. It also led to major national radio playlisting in the UK with tracks like ‘Let’s Find A Way’ and ‘Pots of Gold’.

Their most recent album release GOLDEN DAYS not only achieved the best critical acclaim to date (“Mamas Gun are at the forefront of 21st century soul” – Clash, “Their finest collection yet” Echoes) but has also seen them enter into their first record deal in the USA with the notorious taste making indie label UBIQUITY RECORDS.

As well as his work with Mamas Gun, Platts has enjoyed success writing songs for artists in Asia and Europe. He penned Korean no.1 hit single ‘Falling’ for Korean-American Artist John Park. In Japan Platts wrote the lead single for the no.1 Japanese album ‘YOU’ by JPOP heart throb Yamashita Tomohisa, as well as writing 4 singles for well-known Japanese duo Every Little Thing. Other successful cuts have included a second no.1 South Korean hit single with ‘Shine Your Light’ for Korean superstar Park Hyo Shin & most recently Platts contributed a song ‘The Night’ to Korean megastar’s FT Island’s 10th Anniversary album.
